Instructions.

Wringers are very easy and intuitive to use. We recommend the four basic exercises shown here, but you can try out different positions to find the one that works best for you

To adjust the resistance simply keep twisting the grips clockwise to increase and anti-clockwise to decrease. Use the numbers on the shaft as a guide.

To adjust the resistance simply turn the blue adjustment knob. The higher the number the higher the resistance.

Stretching

To get the best possible results we thoroughly recommend stretching before and after each session.

Full throttle

The simplest and most natural of all the Wringer exercises is a great all-rounder.

Fisherman

The 'Fisherman' grip helps match extensors and flexors against each other giving a more balanced result.

Butler

By holding your Wringer behind your back, the 'Butler' grip forces a stricter movement.

Tug of war

The 'Tug of War' grip targets the muscles responsible for pronation/supination.

TO BUILD SIZE/STRENGTH

If you want to increase ultimate strength and/or increase muscle size you should do fewer, more intense repetitions with a maximum rest of 30secs between sets.

SET 1 Aim to do 1 minute

SET 2 Around 40secs

SET 3 25-30secs

SET 4 You should only be able to do around 15-20secs. If you’re able to do more then you need to tighten your Wringer.

TO INCREASE STAMINA

If you want to increase your stamina you should aim for more repetitions at a lower setting.

SET 1 Aim to do 2 minutes

SET 2 Around 1 minute 30secs

SET 3 1 minute

SET 4 You should be able to do around 40secs. If you’re not able to do it for that long then you need to loosen your Wringer.

REHABILITATION

If you are recovering from an injury to your hand, wrist or arm and you want to build your strength back up we recommend taking it slowly. Start on a very easy setting and gradually increase.

These are only guidelines of course and every case is different. If you’re not sure consult a doctor or physiotherapist!

Built to last.

Both the Wringer Black and the new Wringer Pro have been designed from scratch. Every part is custom made to optimise performance.

The Wringer Pro is almost entirely built from 6082 T6 aluminium alloy. Each part is CNC machined before being anodised for a corrosion resistant finish.

Every part is serviceable/replaceable to last generations and at the end of its life it can be reduced to individual component materials, all of which are easily recycled reducing its environmental impact.

The Wringer Black uses impact resistant PVC handles wrapped with soft silicone rubber grips for comfortable use. These are mounted to an anodised aluminium alloy shaft that threads into a custom made polymer bush. As with the Wringer Pro, the Wringer Black is also fully serviceable allowing replacement of worn parts to keep things running smooth for years to come.

General

What’s the difference between the Wringer Pro and Wringer Black?

The Wringer Pro is made almost entirely from aluminium, has a knurled finish for grip and has an adjustment knob. You can go from 1 to 11 in one turn. The Wringer Black is made from PVC and has silicone rubber bands for grip. To adjust it you have to keep twisting - clockwise to tighten, ant-clockwise to loosen. To go from 1 to 11 takes approximately 30 turns.

How long will my wringer last?

Your wringer should give you many years service. It's best to keep it out of extreme conditions for long periods, such as very wet/damp, hot or cold.

Can I adjust the resistance?

Wringer Pro
Yes, simply turn the blue dial. The bigger the number the greater the resistance.

Wringer Black
Yes, simply twist your wringer to increase or decrease the resistance.

How often should I use my wringer?

You can use your wringer as often as you want, although we recommend doing one session each day.

Will using a wringer make my forearms bigger?

It depends on how you use it. If you go for fewer, more intense repetitions then yes, it will make your forearm muscles bigger. If you go for more repetitions at a lower setting you may see little or no change in size - just an increase in strength and stamina.

How long should I rest between sets?

Really it's up to you. We recommend keeping rest between your sets to around 30secs. This gives enough time for your body to recover but not so long that your muscles start cooling down again.

My forearms hurt after using my wringer. Is this normal?

If the pain is in your muscles then yes, this is normal and is a sign your forearm muscles are being exercised. If the pain is in your joints (wrist, elbow, knuckles etc) then you may be overdoing it and need to simply reduce how often you use the wringer. If in doubt consult a physiotherapist or doctor.

Can I use the Wringer for rehabilitation after an injury?

Yes, although we recommend you speak to a doctor or physiotherapist first as each case is different. Generally speaking, you can start on a very low setting and gradually work your way up.

How much resistance does the wringer give in pounds/kg?

The range of resistance the wringer provides is equivalent to using a traditional wrist roller device with between 0.5kg to 50kg (1lb to 110lbs) hanging from the cord. So using your wringer at around 50% setting is like a wrist roller with 20kg (44lbs) hanging from the cord.

Ultimately it's just a number and it's still best to go with what feels good to you. So simply tighten your wringer up to a point where you feel you're getting a good workout.

Maintenance

Do I need to lubricate/oil my wringer?

No. Both the Wringer Pro and Wringer Black are designed to run dry with no wet lubricant.

How do I replace the friction washer stack on the Wringer Pro?

The Wringer Pro requires almost zero maintenance. The only part that can realistically wear out is the fibre washer within the washer stack in the centre of your Wringer. This is what creates the resistance. If needed you can replace them by following these steps:

  1. Remove the end dial using the 2.5mm Allen key provided.
  2. Remove the adjustment dial, followed by the black rubber ring and stainless steel washer.
  3. Now slide the handle off to expose the friction washer stack.
NOTE: The order of washers in the stack must always be: rubber, stainless steel, fibre, rubber.
NOTE: It is critical that there is no grit or debris of any kind between the stainless steel and fibre washers as this can cause premature wear.
  4. Replace washers as required, paying attention to the stack order.
  5. Slide the handle back on.
  6. Refit the stainless washer.
NOTE: Make sure the washer is dot side up.
  7. Refit the black rubber ring.
  8. Refit the blue adjustment dial followed by the end pointer.
NOTE: There is no hard setting when setting the end pointer. Simply adjust the resistance level to what you feel level 1 should be and position the end pointer to number 1.

How do I replace the felt washer on the Wringer Black?

  1. Twist the grips anti-clockwise to decrease the resistance and keep twisting until the two halves come apart.
  2. Remove the spring. You should now see the felt washer on one side.
  3. Remove the old felt washer, put a new one in and repeat the steps above in reverse order.

Shipping

What are the shipping prices?

We try to keep delivery costs to a minimum. Prices vary depending on weight. Delivery charges are:

Within UK & NI (excl highlands and islands) = FREE / 1-3 days.

Europe (mainland) = FREE / 2-5 days.

Rest of world (incl USA) = from £6.95 / 5+ days.

I don't live in the UK. Will I have to pay additional VAT charges?

Yes, but the charges you will pay depend on the country you live in. If you live in mainland Europe, buying items from the UK used to be free of VAT charges, but that is no longer the case because of Brexit. So now all purchases from outside the UK will have to pay VAT at your countries standard rate.
